Below, you will find the audio recording from my internal investigation interview on 2/8/2024. I have been attempting to obtain this recording for over a year, so I could release it to the public - but I was denied. Recently, it was leaked by a male named “Robert” with “Officer Justin Malueg Watchdogs” Facebook page.

You will hear me be asked a question regarding calling a records custodian (clerk). They were accusing me of calling a records clerk to undermine an order I was just given by a patrol sergeant. I denied making this call. They then asked if I had made any call at all. I again denied making any calls. At the time, I whole-heartedly believed I didn’t make any calls that day. I was under a lot of stress with the internal interview, not to mention they were accusing me of this bizarre claim of undermining my direct supervisor. So, I answered by stating I didn’t make any calls because I believed at the time that that was true.

It wasn’t until after I was provided a call log of the phone calls I had made that day when I finally recalled making a call. I didn’t mean to lie, nor did I have any negative or ill-intent on lying. I have never been accused of being dishonest in my entire adult life, even while I underwent other internal interviews. This was simply a “gotcha moment” based on my recollection being wrong.

Like I have said - if you feel like I had any ill-intent to be dishonest during this investigation, I will respect that. If I don’t earn your vote because of it, I will respect that. I will always own up to my mistakes and will continue to be completely transparent moving forward. Thank you!
