I am writing a letter of recommendation for Deputy Justin Malueg. 

I've known Justin for 9 years. He was an officer of the Weyauwega Police Department who was dispatched to help me on numerous occasions.

Justin is a highly dedicated, passionate, intelligent, and perceptive professional, whose compassion on the field stands out above any officer that I've ever met. 

Justin saved my life and I feel compelled in my heart to write this letter on his behalf for all that he has done for me and my family.

The first time I met him, I had undiagnosed bipolar disorder, and was on the wrong medication that put me in a deep depression. 

Sadly, I got to the point that I was planning to commit suicide. When he arrived, he ran into the house with a look of great concern. I had an empty pill-bottle on my counter top - I hadn't taken the pills yet, but had put them in my pocket. He asked about the pill-bottle, and I replied that I had not taken them. Knowing I must have them somewhere, he asked me to empty my pockets which were filled with the pills. In the end, he stopped me from committing suicide. I was not very happy about it at the time, but I was so grateful for him afterward when I regained my senses. 

There were other times, I regret to say, that I had planned to harm myself. Officer Justin helped me again, as he had before. 

On one occasion, I expressed that I did not want to go to the hospital. The officer that came to assist Justin said that the hospital may not be an option for me, since he wanted to take me to jail. But officer Justin wanted me to get the help I truly needed, so he took me to the hospital. As with previously, I did not appreciate this gesture of kindness and concern at the time. But when I was put on the correct medications that helped me with the serious medical conditions that plagued me, I thanked my God that I had such a caring police officer come to my aid. 

He always looked out for my very best interests, and even when he needed to take firm action, he was still as kind about it as possible. 

Officer Justin has really been there for me, helping my family to keep a mother and wife alive, which is appreciated beyond words. He has been, not just a good officer, but a good person. 

I have been able to observe his good works and kindness towards others as well. He actively helps the community in many ways. On one occasion, after passing an elderly man who was shoveling his driveway, Officer Justin went back and helped the man to finish his shoveling. He is also a wonderful father, spending quality and quantity time with his girls, teaching them good values. They are a close-knit loving family. 

I cannot recommend him highly enough. He excels at his work, and is always committed to it for the right purposes, making him a great asset wherever he serves. He is truly an exemplary man and we need more people like him serving in our community. Please consider hiring Justin Malueg. I'm sure many others would recommend him as highly as I have.

I don’t know if you’ll remember but back in *** 2020 I was arrested by you for possession, I never had been arrested before and I was scared, I was mad, BUT it really changed my life for the better. And I’ve always wanted to say thank you to you. I know that’s weird to thank a former officer for putting me in jail, but really I am thankful because if I hadn’t, I don’t know where my life would be now. Going to jail was my rock bottom, one night was enough for me, I have been sober ever since. I am a better person, A better mom. Overall happier. I’m sure officers never get a thank you, and yes it was over 5 years ago, but I’ve always wanted to thank you because it truly changed me.
